Princess

After we found out Princess was diabetic, our vet has figured out the right dosage for her.  Back and forth to the vet the last 5 days!  We'll have to give her 2.5 units 2x daily.  Poor little thing.  Originally he told us 3 units, but then went back to 2.5.

Other news, I started reading the second book to the game of thrones series.  So far, so good.  Not doing much else this week.  Been in a funk cause of the kitty situation.  Now that it's figured out, it's a load off my mind.

Well, we've found out Princess is diabetic.  We took her to the vet this morning for monitering so they can do glucose draws to see how much insulin she's gonna need.  We're gonna pick her up in a little bit to see how she did today!
In other news...
I went bowling over the weekend, outside of Chicago in a tounament called the Peterson. It's one of those fun tournaments, not so serious.  Didn't do the best, but I had a good time!

Haven't done too much to write about lately!  Took our older cat to the vet yesterday, they took some blood work on her-poor thing!  Sent it in to get tested for various things.  She has been eating like a pig lately, not getting full-even eating the dog food.  Yet she is not gaining any weight, she has actually lost a lot lately:( Only 7 1/2 pounds now.  She used to be alot more.  By early afteroon tomorrow we should know what's going on.  She is 16 years old.

Other news.......My siamese cat cross-stitching still going slow-but going!  I recently planted some tomato plants outside, and they are doing awesome! Nothing like fresh garden tomatoes!!! I have a grapevine which is also doing well.  It is neat to see the clusters of grapes grow from teeny-tiny things to as big as my finger-tips now.  That doesnt seem too big, but it's growing great!

I just finished the first book in the Game on Thrones series.  It was great!  If you're into the medieval British-type historical fictions, this is a must-read!  I can't wait to see the series now. 

I am also excited about my grapevine we have outside the house.  I noticed the other day that it has started flowering!  Hopefully this year I will get grapes out of it.  I haven't gotten anything from it yet.  I've heard it can take between 3-5 years to produce.  I also have a bird's nest in it now, too.  A few weeks ago I noticed one with some small eggs, but they dissappeared soon after.  Maybe this is the momma building a new nest.

Last night I finished The Wolf Gift by Anne Rice.  What a way with words she has.  She can tell one hell of a backstory.  The way she writes them,  it makes you feel like you actually know the characters!
Anyway, I am starting on the first book of Game of Thrones next.  I've heard they are very good. 

Also, I went to see The Lucky One this evening.  What a great movie.  They have made such great movies out of Nicholas Spark's books, and in my opinion, this is the best yet!

first-timer!

This is my first time blogging, so forgive me if I ramble!

I just want somewhere to talk about some of the things I do. I am working on a cross-stitch kit that I am hoping to get done sometime this year! I have done a little more to the left since this last pic.  So far, it's a slow process as I am in the middle of reading a couple library books!  I just finished DemonFever which is a supernatural type, and now am in the middle of Anne Rice's newest: The Wolf Gift.  So far, so good:)

I love to bowl, also.  Right now, the season is over until the fall.  A nice rest!
Last weekend  us ladies went to the State Bowling tournament.  I never do good in tournaments, but it is fun.  Like a nice little vacation.
